Need a Hug

Hello! I am over on the Scrap'n Stamp blog today with this card, which is such a cute image from Stamping Bella.

I water coloured using distress markers and a couple of Nuvo Aqua Flow pens for the mushroom and rain.
I also added a bit of Wink of Stella to the mushroom at the start of the umbrella portion. The white dots are painted using Dr. Ph Martins Bleed Proof White paint.
Once I was done with the colouring I die cut the panel, making one part a frame. I covered my card base using designer paper, then glued on the frame, and attached the panel on an angle using fun foam.
The sentiment was stamped using Ranger Archival ink, and I added Aqua Shimmer to the rain drops.

Happy Birthday to you

My friend's hubby is having a birthday the first part of June, and this is for him. He loves the glitter, so he is getting glitter.
For my stencil piece, I am using A Colorful Life Stencil Cracked. On my work surface I placed the stencil atop a piece of watercolour paper. With my Life Changing Brushes I applied Distress Oxide inks in Broken Glass and Blueprint Sketch, applying the ink in a rough manner, i.e. sort of messy.  I then splattered the piece with water.
I then added bits of Nuvo Aqua Flow in Aqua Splash in some of the areas around the panel, and following that I splattered on some of the same colour with my watercolour brush. I lay the colour down and pick it up with a damp brush as there is already enough water in the product. I then removed the stencil.
Around areas of the card at random I added Nuvo Aqua Shimmer in Midas Touch, and added splatters using the same process as previously.  To finish up, in my Misti I stamped the sentiment in two parts, splitting it between lines by masking eash side and stamping with VersaMark ink, then heat embossing with Copper Embossing Powder. I picked a blue card  base and matted with some Copper Glitter paper.
I know my friend Jim will be pleased, and that is what counts in the end.

Hello, Beautiful

 This is Hello, Beautiful.

My sample card for the Clean and Simple challenge at Splitcoaststampers.
In our design team notes it said "no colouring", which I decided to take as no physical colouring, but other forms of colour yes. I decided my colour would be embossing powder.
I embossed the background of a 4.25x5.5 piece of Neenah card stock using a stencil from A Colorful Life along with embossing paste. I then die cut the stem, covered in versamark and heat embossed with embossing powder from Lindy's Gang. I die cut the embossed panel using my Penny Black die, trimmed the leftover to 4.x 5.25, then covered with versamark and heat embossed with the same colour. I put the pieces together, splattered some gold paint and attached to my card base.
I then attached the stem using foam squares, and finished with the gold embossed sentiment, also attached using foam squares.
For the inside of my card I die cut the panel again using the Penny Black die, then using the same stencil as I used on the front of the card, I brushed on a light dusting of the embossing powder used called Sassy Sapphire, then gently rubbed it in through the negative parts of the stencil. As you can see, it stains the paper slightly, which is exactly the look I wanted.
I then heat embossed the hugs die with the Sassy Sapphire, and stamped and heat embossed in gold the tiny flower from the Altenew set I used on the front of the card, and glued on the hugs die.

CC's house

My favourite challenge to participate in is the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Saturday never seems complete unless I make a card for this challenge.

Today we had a visit to Country Living, where inspiration abounds. When I saw these birdhouses I was in. For our watercolour class this week we are doing this in a large painting. I decided I would do it in a card too.

I am using Arches 140lb cold press watercolour paper for my card, cutting it to 6.5 x 5.0" (10").  I started with the background, went on to the birdhouse, then the tree branches.

I used a mix of paints today, a bit of Schmincke, DaVinci, Daniel Smith and Winsor and Newton Professional.
The side and shadows of the birdhouse are done using Cobalt Blue Deep. For the roof and platform I used Quinacridone Coral. The trees are done first in Raw Sienna, then using Burnt Umber + Burnt Sienna, then Sepia. The leaves and negative leaves are done with a mix of Leaf Green + Hookers Green. The black is made by mixing together Payne's Gray + Alizarin Crimson + Sepia.
I certainly enjoyed painting this card this morning. I hope you enjoy it as well, and I thank you for visiting my blog.

Sweet Friend

This is Sweet Friend, a Gina K. Designs stamp image that I have actually had since last summer and have not used until today.

It would have been much easier to watercolour, but I wanted to challenge myself and use my Copics. The colours come from Splitcoaststampers Colour Challenge today, to use Yellow, Pink and Blue. The blue requested is the colour I used for shading.
Rather than stamping with a harsh colour, I painted the image with my Zig Clean Color pens using Pink, Dark Green, Light Green in the flower centres, and a bit of yellow. I then proceeded to colour with Copics using Y00, Y13, YG03, YG17, YG23, R20, RV13 and B00 to shadow. Once I finished the colouring I die cut the piece with my Wonky rectangle die.
I wanted to do a bit of stencilling, so I die cut another background with the Wonky rectangle and stencilled using my Leaf Lattice from A Colorful Life using a Wendy Vecchi ink called Sunflower, which is a nice green/yellow. I then stamped the sentiment using Ranger Manganese Blue.
To pull it all together I used a light pink card base, attaching the stencil panel, then attaching the floral panel using fun foam, then added a few drops of Nuvo Jewel in Limoncello. I finished by adding Wink of Stella to the flower centres.
